How COBAKSO Was Founded: The Story Behind the First Bowl

Behind a warm and comforting bowl of meatballs lies a simple yet meaningful story.
COBAKSO is not just a culinary brand. It was born from intention, prayer, and a dream — to serve halal food that not only fills the stomach, but also nourishes the heart.

It Didn’t Start With Meatballs

As someone still learning the path of entrepreneurship, I—Sandi Maulana Juhana—often reflected: Could a culinary brand exist not only to sell food, but also to carry deeper values?
I’ve always loved street food. But I also care about where ingredients come from, how food is prepared, and its impact on both body and soul. From there, a thought emerged:

“What if meatballs could be a gateway to blessings?”

I envisioned a meatball business built with true intention: from selecting halal ingredients, to serving methods, to packaging design, all the way to how every bowl is delivered with manners and values. Thus, COBAKSO was designed as a brand uniting local taste, spiritual values, and modern standards.

The Name COBAKSO: More Than Just a Name

The name COBAKSO wasn’t random. For me, “CO” carries the core identity of every brand I build. It holds five key principles:

  • Company: The dream of building a solid, sustainable enterprise.
  • Collaboration: COBAKSO was born through many people, not my work alone.
  • Coproduk: A long-term vision of presenting diverse, high-quality local products.
  • Cobranding: A belief that synergy among brands strengthens the ecosystem.
  • Checkout: A commitment to growing digitally, with apps and online platforms.

COBAKSO may have started with meatballs, but it was designed to grow into a culinary ecosystem — one that collaborates, evolves, and thrives professionally.

From a Small Kitchen to a Big Dream

COBAKSO’s first production began in a modest home kitchen. My team and I tried recipe after recipe, collected feedback, and refined each taste. Nothing came instantly. We chose to make everything homemade: the meat, the broth, the toppings. Even the packaging design was crafted with care.
Why?
Because our principle was simple:

“If you want to touch people’s hearts, start with something made from the heart.”

COBAKSO was not just born from a recipe, but from a thoughtful process: choosing trustworthy suppliers, ensuring production didn’t disrupt prayer times, and safeguarding quality throughout distribution. Everything was done with intention.

Why COBAKSO?

I believe that:

  • Delicious food doesn’t have to be expensive.
  • Simple food doesn’t mean cheap in value.
  • Local products can be a source of national and even global pride.

COBAKSO was my response to the concern over fast food with unclear origins. This brand is a small contribution toward bringing food that carries flavor, story, and blessing.

COBAKSO Today and Tomorrow

Today, COBAKSO may only be known to some. But my dream for it is big. I want it to become:

  • A place where young people learn about blessed business.
  • A hub of collaboration between small businesses and food vendors.
  • A halal digital culinary ecosystem that reaches people right at home.

COBAKSO is not just about food.
It is about viewing business as worship, and entrepreneurship as a path of contribution.
